Restriction of human rights and freedom of speech in Ethiopia  

In two months Ethiopia arrested 6 journalists. Ethiopia has arrested six journalists since the State of Emergency has been declared.They are: Abdi Gada, Solomon Seyoum, Befikadu Hailu, Elias Gebru, Anania Sorri, and Getachew Worku. Practicing journalism seems to be a crime in ‘Ethiopia’, in the empire of a tribal dictator and a tyrannical government. Ethiopia always chooses to close its door on globalization (banning internet or face book and foreign media, banning NGOs and Human Rights Organizations) and kills, arrests and terrorizes its citizens even though Ethiopia is one of the best allies of the West. In 2015, United States President Barrack Obama went to Ethiopia and praised the country's dictator and tribal mafia government for his interests, but not for Ethiopians…

According to the media policy of the Ethiopian government, all media reports must praise the government as Obama did… This is why practicing journalists are targeted for danger in Ethiopia. A nonprofit organization, Freedom House, recently released a press report about Ethiopia by ranking it third out of 65 counties; it’s only ahead of Iran, Syria and China regarding the country's access to the internet, censorship, and freedom of information.

Within 25 years, since the TPLF mafia government took control of Ethiopia as a monopoly, at least 110 Ethiopian journalists left Ethiopia in exile. Thirty nine Ethiopian journalists and two foreign journalists were imprisoned and 23 journalists were dismissed from their Jobs. Ethiopia is a country which fired 20 journalists from their jobs in one day in 2014; this may be a world record.
